Exciting Filming Schedule Set for 2024
Virgin River is one of the many shows set to return with a new season on Netflix, but since its renewal earlier in 2023, it’s been unable to begin production. That changes with filming set to get underway from February 2024.
As we reported earlier in the year, Virgin River season 6 was originally due to get underway with filming over the summer. However, the two Hollywood strikes killed off any hopes of that happening and since the strikes ended, numerous people attached to the show hinted that filming would get underway in early 2024.
Well, now we’ve got confirmed production dates, with filming set to kick off on February 2nd, 2024, and then run through to May 17th, 2024.
The show continues to be filmed entirely in British Columbia, Canada. The series uses multiple locations around BC, including Langley, Burnaby, Maple Ridge, Squamish, New Westminster, and Vancouver.
Two sources state that the series is due to get underway with filming in February, including both ProductionWeekly and the DGC of British Columbia. According to the latter production list sheet, the office for the new season opens in January 2024.
The production uses the company name of Sea To Sea Productions ULC.
No directors are listed yet for the new season, but we’ll likely begin getting those names come the New Year. Neil Williams serves as production manager for the new season.
What do these filming dates mean for a potential release date? It’s a bit early to tell, but given the series will have wrapped by mid-2024, we could potentially see the next season drop on Netflix before the end of this year, but we’ll have to see how that progresses.
