In Emmerdale, Will Taylor’s ongoing revenge against his estranged wife, Kim Tate, takes a shocking turn. Aligning himself with Caleb Milligan, Kim’s bitter rival, Will hires a top divorce lawyer to hit her where it hurts. His latest tactic involves making Kim believe he had a fling with Carrie Wyatt, hoping to fuel her jealousy.
In the October 9 episode, Kim is furious when she sees Carrie sneaking downstairs at Home Farm in the same clothes from the night before. Carrie awkwardly suggests leaving, but Kim sharply responds, “Maybe you should.” Meanwhile, at the café, Will brags to Jimmy that Carrie spent the night with him, which shocks Jimmy. He blurts out, in front of everyone, that Kim would be enraged to find out Will had slept with Carrie. Will dismisses Jimmy’s concern, insisting that Kim has done worse to him in the past.
Jimmy tries to offer Will a reality check, reminding him that Kim’s vengeful behavior stems from discovering Will’s secret kiss with his ex-wife, Rose Jackson. “What’s your excuse?” Jimmy asks pointedly.
Later, at The Hide, Kim becomes even more disgusted when she overhears Carrie loudly inviting Will for lunch over the phone. Frustrated, Kim vents to Lydia, feeling that no one respects her anymore and blaming Will’s recent behavior for her loss of control.
As the episode unfolds, it is revealed that Will never actually slept with Carrie. He admits to Jimmy and Amy that he only made it seem that way to make Kim jealous. Carrie had needed money, so Will paid her, claiming it was a “win-win” situation for both. While Will jokes about his plan, saying it was “worth every penny,” Kim is still left stewing, unaware that the entire affair was just another one of Will’s manipulative schemes.
