Jennifer Aniston And Lisa Kudrow Expertly Sneak ‘Friends’ Quote Into Interview

If, like me, you’ve spent quarantine watching all ten seasons of Friends for the 47th time, you’ll have been delighted with a recent video of Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow interviewing each other from home.

The former castmates – Rachel Green and Phoebe Buffay, respectively – took part in Variety’s Actors on Actors series where they discussed their team on the cult sitcom and their subsequent individual projects like The Morning Show and Space Force.

All very serious and straightforward, until… a-ha. The duo snuck a Friends quote into the mix:

Kudrow: ‘There’s a lot to talk about with The Morning Show, so do you mind if we pivot?

Aniston: ‘No, pivot, pivot. David Schwimmer.’

Get it?

Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow Look Back on 'Friends'

Aniston instantly brought us back to arguably one of the best scenes from Friends involving Rachel, Chandler and Ross (Schwimmer) trying to co-ordinate a sofa up a flight of stairs.

While we’ll immediately now hop on to YouTube to watch that clip, Aniston also admitted she’s been doing the same, explaining that a while ago she and Courteney Cox (Monica, obvs) fell into a Friends bloopers hole.

We’ve all been there.

‘I love stumbling on a Friends episode. This one time I was with Courteney, and we were trying to find something to reference, an old Friends thing. And then we stumbled on — there’s bloopers online — and we sat there at the computer like two nerds watching these bloopers laughing at ourselves.’

Kudrow responded by saying she’s done it too, before the pair discussed one blooper moment in particular, when Phoebe sings along to Ross’ bagpipe playing in season 6 and Aniston simply could not handle it.

Reminiscing about their 10 years on the show, Aniston demonstrated her impressive memory by recalling what everyone was wearing the day they first met at the table read.

‘You were wearing an appropriate Phoebe Buffay — like a white linen, hippie shirt, and you had a bunch of seashells and necklaces on. And you had your hair pulled up in two little clips, and you had these little blonde tendrils. So, so, so beautiful! And Courteney [Cox] had on a pink baby tee with a white trim.’

The two also shared how excited they are to reunite in person, along with Schwimmer, Cox, Matthew Perry and Matt Le Blanc for the unscripted Friends reunion special which is currently on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
