Lisa Kudrow has set the record straight on an ‘irritating’ aspect of filming Friends following Jennifer Aniston’s recent remarks.
60-year-old Kudrow is best known for portraying the whimsical Phoebe Buffay on the long-running American sitcom alongside 55-year-old Aniston’s Rachel Green. The ten-season show consisted of 236 episodes and followed a six-person collective living in the same Manhattan apartment building. The pair, joined by David Schwimmer, 57, Courteney Cox, 60, Matt LeBlanc, 56, and the late Matthew Perry, 54, portrayed iconic characters who spent the series navigating their careers, getting entangled in love triangles and experiencing pivotal milestone moments such as marriage and childbirth.
Earlier this year, Aniston reflected on her time filming Friends with Kudrow and claimed that the Californian native had a pet hate when it came to filming the comedy. Speaking to Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson during Variety’s Actors on Actors series, Aniston claimed that her Friends co-star ‘hated’ the audience laughing.
“Lisa Kudrow, by the way, hated when the audience laughed… She’d be like, ‘I’m not done! It’s not that funny!’” she recounted to Brunson, 34. However, Kudrow has addressed this claim in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight. The actor stated: “No, that’s not exactly… no, no. It irritated me if they would laugh for too long.”
“God bless them. They were so excited to be there that sometimes the laughter would just be longer than if they would have laughed at anything else,” she continued. “I was like, ‘All right, well, take it easy. It’s not that funny. And there’s more to say!’”
