By now, you’ve probably seen every single episode of Friends at least 100 times and are very confident that you know it inside and out.
However, Friends was on for ten freakin’ years and despite being one of the most popular shows around, we are still digging up new details.
That’s basically it.
They live in New York in apartments that are way too big, drink a lot of coffee, and date each other more than they should.
However, one couple who emerged from this mayhem is Monica and Chandler, and they are perfect.
There is one truly iconic episode in the fourth season of Friends, and yes, I’m obviously talking about “The One With All The Wedding Dresses.”
Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel drinking beer and watching TV while wearing wedding dresses will forever be a legendary image.
In the episode, Monica is tasked with picking up Emily’s wedding dress. At this point, Ross is planning on marrying Emily.
Monica ends up trying on the dress and loving it, so she wears it around the house like a boss while doing typical Monica stuff (i.e. cleaning).
Of course, Phoebe wants to get in on the fun.She shows up wearing her own wedding dress, and the two spend a glorious day hanging out in the gowns.
Later, when Rachel is feeling bummed out about a date that goes wrong, Monica and Phoebe know exactly how to cheer her up.
Here’s is where things start to get interesting. At one point, while the girls are hanging out in the wedding dresses, there’s a knock at the door, which causes Monica to panic because she thinks its Chandler.
Of course, at this point in the show, Monica and Chandler aren’t together. But some fans think this moment foreshadows their eventual relationship because when Rachel goes to answer the door, Phoebe stands in front of Monica and says, “The groom cannot see the bride!”
It gets even better when Monica explains the reason why she thinks it’s Chandler at the door.According to her, he was coming by to grab some scented candles for a “big date.”
I obviously don’t have to remind you of the episode where Monica and Chandler get engaged, but there were candles freakin’ everywhere. You probably vaguely remember watching it through a curtain of your own tears. It was a thing of beauty.
I’m also freaking out a little bit because the next thing Rachel says is, “I’m not gonna marry Chandler!”
LITTLE DID WE KNOW IT WAS MONICA WHO WOULD MARRY THE CHAN CHAN MAN.
Obviously, this could be a complete coincidence, but it’s also possible that the writers knew Monica and Chandler would end up together. This isn’t the only time that fans think Friends teased Monica and Chandler’s relationship.
In fact, Monica and Chandler share a ton of romantic moments before they got together.Umm, the beach episode! And when Chandler says Monica is the most beautiful women he knows? Remember when Ben says, “Monica bang!” it sounds a lot like “Monica Bing”? (Okay, that one is a stretch.)
Whether it’s foreshadowing or not, Monica and Chandler are definitely the perfect couple, and I love talking about them.
