Virgin River Season 6 (Netflix): Martin Henderson Releases First Photo and Makes a Promise to Fans
Filming for Virgin River Season 6 has just begun in Canada. Martin Henderson, who plays Jack, released the first photo with co-star Alexandra Breckenridge.
After the Christmas episodes that warmed the hearts of fans, Virgin River news has been scarce. That will change in late February 2024: Netflix’s flagship romance series just announced two very exciting news for viewers. While we still don’t know if Virgin River will continue after Season 6, the universe will expand. Netflix is actually considering a spinoff of the series dedicated to Mel’s parents. A very cool idea, in the vein of Outlander and the Blood of My Blood spinoff about the love story of Jamie’s parents and Claire’s parents. While Mel met her biological father, Everett Reid, in season 5, fans will learn more about him in the rest of the series, thus introducing this potential spinoff. But that’s not the only good news for Virgin River fans! Despite being delayed, like many other productions, due to the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strike, filming for season 6 has finally begun, on Thursday, February 22, in Vancouver, Canada.

It’s great to be back as Jack to film more of what we hope will be a fun, romantic and exciting series for you all. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes and on-set news…”
What to expect from Netflix’s Virgin River Season 6
Virgin River fans are dying to know what the writers have in store for Mel and Jack in this sixth season. After facing a miscarriage together, the couple have decided to move forward. “In seasons 6 and beyond, Mel and Jack will continue their journey to parenthood, but I love the idea that we’ve shared this with them, this moment that will help shape the happiness that they will eventually find,” Virgin River showrunner Patrick Sean Smith told Télé-Loisirs exclusively. These new episodes could see Mel and Jack marry and consider adoption. Season 6 will also be a chance for the young girl to build a relationship with her biological father, who she has only just discovered. This will cause tension, especially on Doc’s part, who doesn’t take the arrival of Everett Reid well. “These are two The man loves Mel and cares for her, but they will compete with each other. So we can expect some drama. Doc is always there for her as a surrogate father and that’s what we want to explore. It’s a kind of ‘father love triangle’,” Patrick Sean Smith shared with us.
Virgin River season 6 delayed to 2025 on Netflix
Although filming has just begun, we will have to be patient to discover this season 6 on screen: Virgin River is not among the shows that Netflix announced for airing in 2024. Therefore, it will be delayed until 2025, like season 5 of Stranger Things or season 2 of Mercredi. But the platform has found a way to fill the gap, by preparing a new series that can please fans, Ransom Canyon. For their part, Alexandra Beckenridge and Zibby Allen have announced the good news to fans.
